I thought I start a thread dedicated specifically to my install project. Following are a couple links regarding the origins on my kit:

The first box has arrived which appears to be everything except for the Vortech SC. That will be coming in the second installment/shipment.

The instruction manual mentions something about an oil related connector at the dipstick. I’m guessing this was eliminated with the newer Vortech.

Also, I was wondering if there is supposed to be some sort of shroud on top of the radiator to fill the gap removing the OEM shroud creates.

Next will be a purchase of tune up goodies from Roger and then the games begin.

Pictured is the shroud I'm thinking of:

Correct, the newer model Vortech superchargers used in the kits are self contained as far as the oiling goes. There's no more oil return fitting in the dipstick tube, and also no more oil supply adapter going under the oil filter anymore with those newer model Vortech units.

Yes, there's supposed to be an aluminum air dam at the top of the radiator, as shown in that picture you posted above. It fits on top of the radiator, attaches to the two mounting tabs that the stock fan shroud originally did, and then the top of new fan mounting brackets attach to that aluminum air dam.

Just FYI... Missing shroud has been located and it's being shipped now along with a few other misc parts.

Still saving my nickels to get the 'other' stuff.

Hope to have all needed parts by end of March and complete the engine refresh and SC install by the end of April.

Status update:

Running a week or two behind schedule and decided to post a project progress thread full of pictures and fluff over here:

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/9 ... stall.html

I’ll limit posting anything on here to only good technical photos or questions. The fun begins in earnest this weekend.

Pictures can be misleading, but in the one showing your cam sprockets in that thread, it looks like your passenger side cam timing may be off. I'd definitely suggest checking into that when you're putting things back together.
